OPI Muppets Most Wanted Collection - 'I Love Applause' and 'Let's Do Anything We Want'

Greetings fair readers, how are you??!

It has been a while, hasn't it? I took a well needed sabbatical from Blogger, but I didn't stop painting nails.

Over the last few months I have been privy to experiences I could only have dreamed of. I've had ups, I've had downs, but I am happy to say that I return to my trusty readership with a new zest for life...and polish. Needless to say, I am a little late to the party with some of my nail art and reviews, but please stay tuned because I have A LOT to show you over the coming posts.

First, I'll return to my good old beauty blogger roots - a swatch (hazzah!).

OPI's Muppets Most Wanted Collection (2 of 8)
'I Love Applause' is a beautiful pale creme polish. No shimmer, just a yummy pink, reminiscent of my favourite childhood dessert - Angel Delight.

'Let's Do Anything We Want' is a clear jelly stuffed with pink and white glitter particles, with some chunky white squares chucked in for good measure.

Totally worth layering, wouldn't you say?

What can I say? The combination works and it's perfect for a Summer time pedicure. Fingers crossed that the weather in good old Blighty (slang for Britain) stays nice and dry for us!

I will be back again with a few more polishes in this collection, but in the interim, thanks for reading!

OPI Dulce De Leche and Nail Art Nail Tattoos.

Happy Friday everyone.

I've been slipping on my posts again...what can I say? Nothing, apart from 'I'm getting there!'

Today, I have a quick OPI swatch and I'll also be showing off some Nail Art Nail Tattoos.

 OPI's 'Dulce De Leche'.

Nail Art Nail Tattoos from Skin Art UK They are thin and self-adhesive. All you need to do is peel them carefully off the backing paper, and stick them onto your nails. Cover with a top coat and you're good to go!

I decided to add a few ribbons and tails to the bow on my nail. I was trying to be 'office appropriate' whilst wearing these.  The beauty of wearing art on only a couple of fingers is that you can strategically place your gilded talons when necessary! Imagine me at the water cooler, talking to a senior manager...with my middle and ring fingers hidden behind a clip board, hahaha!

Nails Inc 'Baker Street'

In a bid to continue catching up on all of the manicures I've worn over the last few weeks, here is something I did to Nails Inc's 'Baker Street'.

The dodgy photo is attributed to the mobile phone camera and a million edits! This was inspired by a tutorial Ying posted on Nailartexpress.com

This is Baker Street before I brought out the acrylic paints. Unfortunately, these pictures do not reflect the true colour of this polish. In actual fact, it's slightly darker.

This is OPI's 'RapiDry'; I bought this from a beauty supply store because I'd run out of Seche Vite. I actually bought two bottles...and I don't like it. In comparison to Seche, it doesn't dry as fast and it isn't a glossy. I'm now stuck with two bottles of this stuff!

That's it for today - I have a few more mani's to post and then I'll be up to date!

Stripey accent

Hey folks.

Can I just say that this new blogger dashboard takes a lot of getting used to. Those of you who don't blog probably won't notice any difference (correct me if I'm wrong) but I, on the other hand, am squinting and scratching my head right now. Okay, it's not that bad, but this is my first post with the new layout...

I have a beautiful polish for you tonight - OPI's 'Bogie'. I think I need to invest in more OPI's because the finish is so glossy without a top coat. I've used this polish many times, but I guess I haven't really noticed it's real beauty until now *sigh*!

Look at that black cherry colour. I LOVE it!

I was going to college the following day and I know that my friends there are always interested to see what I'm wearing. One asked me (whilst I doing doing a full set of pink and white gel nails) how many hours I spent on my nails per week. I couldn't tell her, for fear of embarrassing myself!

I made these simply stripes with acrylic paint but as a family member was over on Friday night, I didn't want to spend the whole night in the kitchen painting my nails, so I left them as you see them here.

So, friends...how much time do YOU spend on your nails in a week? Or is it another one of those questions that no-one wants to answer because you might actually find that it's far too long and you may just have an obsession? Come on - indulge me!

Happy a great week :)

OPI's 'I don't give a Rotterdam'

Hi everyone (and a big 'hi' to my new readers)

Tonight I have a swatch of a OPI's 'I don't give a Rotterdam' for you. Now that I'm a student again, for the millionth time *insert cheesy grin here*, I am now able to shop at trade stores. My bottle of OPI was under £6 and I was pretty happy with my purchase.

This is not the greatest picture (I'm so sorry), but the silver shimmer particles in this polish are so subtle and beautiful. This took three thin coats before it became sheer and I wasn't best pleased. This may sound silly and wasteful, but I always apply three coats unless I'm working with a polish amazing enough to be sheer in just one. Call it a mild obsession if you will. The fact that I HAD to apply three necessary coats as opposed to two and then one indulgent third coat, annoyed me.

Excuse the tip wear (and dodgier photo) - this was after two days of wear. It had only JUST occurred to me to take a picture before removing it.

Have a good week.

P.S. You can find OPI nail polish at Kmart with these coupons!

Nails Inc 'Kabaret' and OPI's 'All About Alice'

This is a simple one tonight. I swapping comments with Frank (one of my Facebook buddies), who had taken some gorgeous pictures of OPI's 'All About Alice'.  I had mentioned that this gorgeous thick blue and silver glitter polish looked great over a dark colour and he asked me if I had any pictures. I didn't then, but I do now...

Nails Inc's 'Kaberet' and OPI's 'All About Alice'.

I dabbed the glitter on from the cuticle upwards. I left the bit at the top glitter-free, just because.

There's a little bit of tip-wear there.

So, here you go. I'm off to go and plaster some glitter on my nails now.

31 Day Manicure Challenge Day 17 - 'Glitter'

It's Thursday!

Today is glitter day and I have some abismal photos to show you. It was so dark this morning that I couldn't take any pictures before I left for work. I chucked a bottle of polish and my camera into my handbag and decided to take the pictures on my lunch break.

Oh dear.  I was sculking around the back door, squinting, changing light settings and posing the polish bottle so as not to cover the label with my fingernails, whilst at the same time I was trying to act natural just in case someone caught me acting like a weirdo. With all the jumping and rushing, every photo I took was pants...apart from two.

I started with Models Own Pro in 'Midnight Blue'  bought in Boots at Brent Cross. The picture does the colour no justice and I will get around to swatching it properly at some point. I then layered a gradient of OPI's 'Absolutely Alice' and Sinful Colors 'Frenzy'. When I had finished, it was so bright, I would have caused a distraction in a very, very serious meeting I had at work, so I tried to dampen the bling (oh, how I hate that word) with some stamping.

I used a blue Konad special polish and BM plate 201.

I'm not so fond of this one, but I was rushing and didn't have time to do it the way I would have liked.

Midnight Mission Remixed

Hey friends, hope all is well.

Remember I was thinking of doing something else to my last manicure? Well I did. I used the glitter polish, some nail stickers and some black acrylic paint to make the swirls.  I hope you like it :-)

Hey Friends!

I've experimented again with the 17 Crackle Top Coat.  Here it is with OPI's Bogie...after three days of wear.

It's weird, but I think I like it! Do you?

Pink 'n Gems

Hey everyone.  I'm sorry for the recent lack of posts, I've just been so busy and so tired after work; my blog has taken a back seat :-(

I was having a look at my nail art magazine recently and noticed that a lot of the manicures in it used pearls and jewels.  I thought I'd do my own jewel encrusted manicure.

I used Rimmel's Ethereal as a base, sponged OPI's And This Little Piggy

I used nail glue to stick on some gems and pearls and also used a few from this sheet of stickers...which is looking pretty sparse at the moment.

This wasn't my best manicure and I felt a bit weirded out with the texture at times (okay so that might be odd, but aren't we all? I mean, my husband gets the heebie geebies at the sight of Oak tree bark!) I wouldn't say it was practical, but it was fun whilst it lasted.  I actually wore it for three days, hence the tip wear.

OPI sale - only a day left!

I forgot to mention yesterday, that there is an 'up-to-55%' sale on selected OPI products at http://www.brandalley.co.uk/
You'll have to be quick though, there's only one day and four hours left until the sale ends.

If there's anyone out there (smile) and you manage to get some of these before they all go, please let me know?

Bye for now!
