GOSH Holographic makes an appearance.

Hey all.

I did this last night, when lamenting my sheer lack of enthusiasm. I was actually trawling YouTube to see if I could find some inspiration (okay, a pattern that I could shamelessly copy...but not without crediting the source of course!)  I had a rummage in my Helmer and found this polish. It's only been used twice, so I thought I'd dust it off.

This is GOSH's Holographic (discontinued and highly coveted, LOOK!!!) I also used Catherine Arley's holographic polishes in 677 and 673.

Don't ask me what I was thinking when I did this. It doesn't make any sense, I know. I did some white shapes in acrylic paint and then outlined them in black and added some dots.  I'm going to keep this on for Christmas even though I'm in two minds about it, lol!

If this is a polish you are gagging for but don't fancy paying extortionate prices on ebay for, you can always try Nfu-Oh 61, which is supposed to be a dead ringer for 'Holographic'.

31 Day Manicure Challenge Day 19 - 'Galaxy nails', loads of photo's and how-to

Captain's log. Day nineteen and there seems to be a shift in the space time continuum...

I'm sorry - I don't know what a space time continuum is, or how it could shift, but I sure do like that phrase (I'm a trekkie deep, deep down).

This was my first ever attempt at 'galaxy nails' and I actually enjoyed it. I'm not quite sure if it is as intricate as some I've already seen, but I think it resembles something galactic! Keep scrolling to see the outcome.

This is Orly's 'Goth'. A pretty jet black lacquer full of silver glitter particles. Tip wear after applying it last night and washing, drying and styling hair this morning.

This is how it started. Below is the end result and what I used and did to achieve it.

Hard Candy 'Skimpy', Gosh 'Wild Lilac', Orly 'Goth', Gosh 'Gasoline, Barry M 'Matte White' and Nails Inc 'Carnaby Street'.

First, I painted on a zig-zag with the Skimpy (you probably don't need to do this. I was thinking of something completely different at the time).

I sponged on some Matte White over the Skimpy and then some Carnaby Street, using an eye shadow sponge applicator.This allowed me to apply the polish more neatly.

Then the Wild Lilac and the Gasoline. I added random dots of Matte White.

Sinful...Dream On

Hey friends.

Hope you've all been well. 

I've had a lot of things going on separate projects going on for me over the past few weeks (looking for nail technician courses, business ideas, trying to get the right hair colour...I'm now a red-head) so whilst I haven't been posting, I have been doing 'nail stuff'.

My nails are getting longer and are actually longer on my right than they are on my left hand. But because I've been neglecting them a little, they are dehydrated and have started to curve inwards at the corners.  To help alleviate that problem, I've rounded them slightly.  And now I don't like them.  Never satisfied, me.

Here's what I did last night and have intentions of wearing into next week.

Here is the polish in order of use:

L-R: Sinful Colors 'Dream On', Gabrini '365', MUA Shade 2 and GOSH 'Holographic'.

Neon Baby...

Hi friends.

I am completely in love with this colour at the moment. I had it on my toes a few weeks back and was walking everywhere with my head down!

 This one is a true reflection of the colour.

I won't adulterate this with any nail art...just yet. I want to stare at my fingers a little :-)

Glorious Gasoline

Hi friends.

I'm officially out of my slump and have a manicure for you. I did this ages ago and although it was gorgeous in real life (to me anyway), it was an absolute monster to capture on film. The pictures don't do it any justice, unfortunately.

  I sharpened this image to show the detail.

 The main colour is GOSH's Gasoline with black sponged tips. I love this polish so much. As you know, I'm a sucker for glitter and this has it all. I may even have to pick up another of these bottles the next time I see one.

 I used BM image plate 04 (the older set of plates) . The colours used to stamp were Petites Color Fever 'Black Diamond', MUA's Black shade and Essence Metallics 'Copper Rulez!'

Dunno what this is...

I created this manicure recently and wore it for a couple of days. To be honest with you, I think it's a bit 'all-over-the-place'. I don't know about you, but I don't ever plan my manicures. I simply pick a base colour and have a look at my stash of plates and nail art materials until an idea comes to me. Sometimes those ideas are great...and sometimes they are like this. Meh.

 The flowers were from BM plate 10 and stamped with Sally Hansen's 'The Real Teal', GOSH's Special Edition 'Neon Baby' and some random white polish.

 The trellis is from BM plate 210

GOSH Holographic. A rainbow trapped in a bottle.

Hi Friends, how are you? 

Having only worn Gosh Holographic once (and been totally bowled over by it) I wondered what it might look like with black.  I was bored when I did this and because I loved the effect so much, I thought I'd post a few pictures.  Here you go!

It looks like silver glitter, but seriously, this is like a rainbow trapped in a bottle, bursting to get out. I think this is now discontinued...although you may still find a bottle laying around gathering dust in Superdrug.  Guess who has another bottle in her Helmer?

GOSH - Green Dragon

I know it looks like I've got a blue and green theme going on here. I swear, I haven't done it on purpose, but I just find myself gravitating to these colours at the moment. Today is no different. If you don't like green, I've spared you and have only put up three pictures!

This is Green Dragon by Gosh:

 You can see the duochrome tendancies of this polish. It has golden undertones.

This was three coats and I decided not to adulterate it in any way.

My trip to Inglot - loads of pics/swatches

This weekend just gone, we (myself and the family) went for a wander down at Westfield London Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush.  I know a lot of people love it, but since it's been open, I've only been a few times...and I'm not totally swung by it. Yet.  I like to be able to go straight to a store, get what I want and get out - a mall of this magnitude frustrates me because I hate having to faff around with lifts (especially because I usually have a buggy and another set of small legs in tow).  Saying that though, if you know where 'your' stores are, you can plan your drop-off point, hit your main points quickly and get out again without feeling too harassed. 

On this occasion, I'd already done my research so I didn't have to walk all over the place to find Inglot.  

This is only the polish section - the rest was filled with yummy make-up and brushes galore.  I took these pictures with my phone simply for my own pleasure...I was trying to be discreet because we were the only customers!

As an early Christmas present, Hubby bought me three lacquers:

Colour 703 - black base with gold micro particles.

Only 2 coats!! Fantastic coverage, easy, fluid application.

Colour 703...it dried with a rubberised/matte look (nice surprise!)

Three coats, coverage was okay.

  

 With a shiny top-coat, although I think I'll use a matte one in future.

Colour 969 - a mint green

Needed four coats and I could still see streaks.

Whilst in there, I found several different opal flakies that could pass as duplicates/substitutes for Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasures, Nubar 2010, Gosh Rainbow and some of the clear Nfu-Oh opals (for those who want them but can't find them). From what I remember, the prices range from £7-10 for the lacquers and the glittery/opal ones were £7 for smaller bottles. The staff were friendly and helpful and there were leather sofas for those with tired bodies and minds.

The only issue I have is that you can't order on-line...and that there is only one store in England. Otherwise, I'm totally loving Inglot.

GOSH - Holographic

Hi everyone.  Tonight, I would just like to say how pleased I am.  Not only has my friend embarked on her own blog, I also made my own discovery.  'Holographic'.  I found it, yes, in Superdrug and come to think of it, there were a couple more of them sitting there gathering dust. I didn't pick them up because I didn't realise the sheer magnificence of it.

It looks like plain old silver glitter in the bottle, goes on a bit gloopy and streaky, but when it dries...

 Am I the only one who didn't know about this polish??!

 It totally blew my mind and if I see another I will HAVE to buy it. The bottle doesn't give much away but it certainly holds a big secret. Kudos GOSH, kudos.
