31 Day Manicure Challenge Day 15 - 'Delicate print'

Hello, hello!

I'm sat here in my pj's about to post today's delicate print nails.

I tell ya, this print is so delicate you can barely see it. I did it on purpose though, lol! Tell me if you can see it:

 Such a nice blue pearl.

I used Stargazer Silver and plate SdP-B08

Only two pictures tonight I'm afraid. I couldn't capture the pattern, that's how delicate it is!

Bamboozled, I tells ya.

Hello, hello. How's it going friends?

So I wore that last manicure for a few days until it chipped on my right hand.  I really liked the way that one came out and, by the looks of things, a few of you liked it too. Today's manicure, however, might not be as popular...

It's supposed to be a bamboo. Supposed to be.

I call this one 'Bamboo-zled' because both myself and my husband just stared at it for a long while. Perplexed was the feeling, I think. Having said 'mmm' about a million times, we came to the conclusion that this was one fit for only an hour of wear. I went to work with bare nails today, as a result.  My daughter caught sight of me in the shower this morning and was horrified to see that I had no polish on my nails.

L-R in order of application
Barry M 'Matt White', L'Oreal Laqui Resist (I don't know what colour this is, but it looks about 20 years old. I got it from a bargain bin in a beauty products shop for 99p), Sinful Colors 'Mint Apple', China Glaze 'Jolly Holly', a Fraken, Essence 'Copper Rulez' and Seche Vite.

It all started like this (two coats of white, one of the L'Oreal and sponged on Mint Apple.

This is the bamboo image that I used (centre).

Yeah, it's pink. I was just messing around with the online editor.

The butterflies were from:

Nah, don't like it. I had high hopes for this manicure, but what I had envisioned did not translate onto my nails. I tried to make it better with some acrylic paint dots and accenting the butterfly wings, but I don't think I did so well.

Never mind!

On a plus side, my baby stood on her own for about five seconds today. My face still aches from all the smiling I did.

Nails Inc Ebor St and stamping

Hi friends.

Remember I said I had a load of Nails Inc polishes that I've never used? Well, I got this one for Christmas last year and thought I'd try it out.
Oh dear. It was like trying to apply milk to your nails; it was so runny and streaky. You can see my middle nail is mess. I thought I'd try to salvage it with some nail art. This is definately not a polish I'd wear on its own again, although the colour itself is nice.

Two layers of the very lovely Nfu-Oh 50

I can't remember which colours I used to stamp, but only the white was a Konad Special polish. The purple and cerise were either Maybelline or Rimmel. I find that the heavy pigmented polishes work just as well as Konad - AND they don't streak if you put on a regular clear polish or topcoat.

This lasted until the end of the day because I didn't like the pinkie nail :-(

So, I bought a Helmer...and did some stamping too.

Hey, hey everyone.  The weekend is nearly here!

Look what I bought...

Yes, I succumbed to the lure of 'The Helmer'.  I know I'd complained about the way it looked in the Ikea catalogue, but when I saw this 'white' one (which looked more like a cream colour), I thought it was passable.
It took one hour to get from this ^,

to this ^. It was pretty straightforward to put up, though the millions and trillions of pieces I found when I opened the box was a bit of a shock!

She fits cozily into the corner of my room. Unobtrusive, inconspicuous, quiet.

She's adorned by the crystals my late aunt gave to me every time I went to stay with her in Bussum, Holland.

My little girl helped to put some drawer liners (also from Ikea) in the drawers to stop the polish sliding around and she also arranged the polish too. The drawers do have labels on them, but they are there so she could figure out where to put what! What a sweetie <3

Overall, I do have to say that I am pretty happy with my purchase.  This little treasure is slim, easily hidden and is extremely spacious. The polish I have only fills 1.5 of the drawers! I've had to spread the rest of my art supplies, liquids and cotton wool around in the other ones...but I believe I need more polish. Muhahahahahaha.

Speaking of polish, I got 'Betty Blues' from Boots.  I had another £5 voucher so I only spent £2.
Such a gorgeous colour in the bottle...

...but rubbish on the nail.  Okay, so this has been on my nails for three days so it looks a bit worn, but the colour does NOT translate onto the nail at all.  Booooooo. I'm not going to use this again.

The images on my nails are from Shirley's plates (SdP A16)

Oh, it's my wedding anniversary tomorrow. Five years and two kiddies later, we still like each other, lol!

Shirley's image plates

Evening all!
This is my first installment of my dalliances with Shirley's image plates.

From the A series I got 4, 9, 15 and 16. From the B series, 1, 3, 8, 11 and 19. I tried so hard to take a decent photo and I failed miserably. These things are so difficult to photograph without a reflection :-S. Even with the light box; which is now in tatters after it got battered and my kiddie's foot went through it, couldn't do the plates any justice.
Yup, that's me.
Look at the size difference! On the left is the Bundle Monster plate and on the right is Shirley's plate (SdP)

These are from Shirley's site...a lot better than mine, lol!

Hmm. I was a bit heavy handed with the stamper and also smudged the pinkie nail with a non-Konad topcoat...but I love this design. The images are deep and precise; no mismatched patterns or bumps lie I have found in some of my BM plates.  Unfortunately, this manicure doesn't do the design justice, so next time I'll ditch the Konad polish and use a normal one (I have better luck with those).

I'll be posting manicures with the rest of these as often as I can.  Sorry if I've fed your plate frenzy folks...

Oh and by the way, I bought all of these plates myself. :-)
