Max Factor's Fantasy Fire - Swatch - UPDATE!

Hello my lovelies.

So after my last post, I decided to do as many of you suggested - I layered Max Factor's Fantasy Fire over a black polish. Here you go:

 I made the pictures bigger just so you could see the shimmer.  Ignore the silver glitters - they belong to the Orly 'Goth' which you can see on it's own, here.

 You will notice that the ring finger has some flakies on it. They belong to Nfu-Oh's 51.

So, from what I can see, other than the size of the flakes and shimmer particles, both polishes are very similar. They both have a similar base colour and the shimmers and flakes seem to be the same in colour too. Don't get me wrong; I like the Max Factor but I'm more into bolder effects.

31 Day Manicure Challenge Day 29 - 'Nails inspired by the supernatural'

Oooh, helloooo.

How's it going everyone?

Tonight I'm feeling a lot better and have a bit of energy for a change!  The challenge for today was to create a manicure inspired by the supernatural. I decided to hunt down my matte top coat specifically because I haven't used it for so long.

This is a random polish my husband picked up for me at our local pharmacy. He told me that he and the kiddie were deliberating for ages as to which colours to get for me :)

The red was layered with a pink hexagonal glitter (by Peripera), then layered with Nfu-Oh 50, stamped with Models Own 'Gold Digger' (using BM 223), then mattified with Rimmel Pro Matte Finish. It's not awful...could be worse!

Fimo Fingers

Hi friends.

Over the last few months, I've built up a lot of nail art supplies and they are just stuffed into my helmer. It certainly feels as if I have more rhinestones, wraps and glitters than I do nail polish! I will be adding nail art supplies to my shop at some point so don't forget to have a look.

Yesterday I got my fimo's out...

I didn't take pictures of all the polish, but here is what I'm wearing at the moment.

What I did:
Painted my nails with Sally Hansen's 'Hard as Wraps'
Painted the tips with Barry M's 'Berry Ice Cream'
Painted on one layer of Nfu-Oh 50
Adhered the fimo slices with nail glue
Added dots of acrylic paint
Topped with Sally again and a layer of Seche Vite

I totally love this balm right now. I got it from Superdrug (yes, I know, I'm always in there). I put it on at night and in the morning my cuticles thank me for it; my purse did too, I think it's £2-3.

Another festive manicure - China Glaze 'Seduce Me', Nfu Oh 51/Stamping

Hi everyone, I hope you are well. There are only a few days left until Christmas...are you prepared? Or will you be joining the last minute rush? 

Before I launch into the polish, I just want to say that I recognise that some of my readers may not be familiar with some of the things I talk about (like stamping, marbling etc). Up until very recently, some things of the nail polish world were pretty foreign to me and I think it only fair to consider this when I'm writing. I had to do my own research to understand a lot of the terminology, find UK retailers and decipher many acronyms, so I'll try to be as clear as  possible in my own writing...just so that I can help someone else out.

In the New Year I intend to make my blog more user friendly. Please look out for some reference pages,  pictures of the materials I'm using for nail art and maybe even a tutorial or two. I  sound like Marge Simpson when I talk, so it don't think it's going to be a YouTube video unless I can find nice background music!

Please forgive me, however, if this takes a little while. This blog is new and is a work in progress;  today, I haven't taken pictures of all of my materials, but I'll remedy that.

Now on to the polish! I have a China Glaze swatch for you this evening. 'Seduce Me' is a nice berry coloured polish... 

PICTURE SPAM ALERT!!!!

...which is a dead-on match for Barry M's 'Raspberry'! For me, the only difference is that Barry M was sheer in two coats, but it took three with the China Glaze.

 Barry M is on the pinkie and middle finger, but you wouldn't be able to tell.

 I put a layer of Nfu-Oh 51 (an opal flakie glitter polish for those who don't know) which looks orange here...

 ...and green here.

 Then I stamped on a pattern from BM plate 02.  Excuse the pinkie finger - I got excited and started swatching something else before I took pictures.

 I hid the pinkie this time!

Yeah, the tree shot again, lol!
