Disclosure Policy/PR

This has taken me a little while, simply because I just didn't know what to say.  I didn't even want to have to write one of these because I should be able to say what I want, when I want.  In this world, unfortunately, that is not always appropriate, acceptable or even allowed so I thought it best to put in my own policy. I shouldn't have to censor my own blog when talking about things I like and how I do things, but people can get sued for all sorts nowadays.  I don't want to be hauled into court for saying 'Blah-blah's new brand of blusher is rubbish' (I'd have to serve time for contempt because I don't have any money to give anyone!), so I bit the bullet and filled in the template at the bottom of the page.

As I've been blogging for a few months, without a disclosure, I just thought I'd mention a few things. I'm a Taurean and love nice things - especially pink, shiny glittery things. I also like a good bargain and gifts. New bloggers may or may not be aware that sometimes products are sent by suppliers or manufacturers to established bloggers so that they can be reviewed.  This is great (I wouldn't mind!) but if it means that you have to endorse said product, even if you don't like it, then that's not good.  I used to work for a large retail bank some years ago, as a personal banker. I hated the job because I was having to sell products (credit cards etc) that would ultimately only benefit the bank. My sales only exceeded the targets when I believed in the product - if I thought it was a terrible product my sales would meet target but go no further.  I left this job after a few months because I felt like I was conning people into taking on debt for the sake of  the quarterly bonus pot. Long story short, if you have a product you'd like me to review, by all means please contact me. My reviews will reflect my honest opinion and will also be defensible and diplomatic. I am more than capable of feeding back a negative review directly to the supplier of the product if need be. I'm only mean in my current occupational role; outside of work, I'm positively lovely.

The content of this blog is mine and is influenced by ONLY by myself and my five-year-old daughter who sometimes tells me what colour polish to use.

Okay, so here is the official policy.
