How I made my photography light box after reading this
1. First, I used a box that was the right size for its purpose. I wanted to be able to put my hand and/or small objects in to be photographed without having to stand by a window or stick my hand right underneath a blazing hot lamp!
2. I taped the bottom up and laid it on the side I intended to use it on when finished.
3. On the top, left and right panels, I measured an inch (or thereabouts) from the edges and drew lines all around the panel.
4. I cut out around these lines with a craft knife. I also taped the open flaps shut before cutting because it made it easier to cut.
5. The flaps were cut off.
6. Tissue paper in plain white. I was actually looking for crepe paper, but this seemed to work.
7. I stuck one sheet (folded into two) over each panel, with sellotape.
8. I used a piece of poster card slightly narrower (by a few millimetres) than the width of the box and pushed it up and to the back of the box. I let the card slop down and out and trimmed the surplus. If I had creased the card into the edge at the back, it might have show up in pictures. You may also notice that I put some extra cardboard on edges of the top, right and left panels just to make them more sturdy.
Okay, that's how I made my box. I had to go back in and take off a layer of paper from the top panel because it was a little too dark but otherwise, I still have to play with it. I can now put the box on a table or the floor and put the lamp next to any of those paper panels to get a nice light source without the glare. I'm no photography expert so don't stone me if it's too crudely fashioned for your liking. I hope this has helped someone :-)
Very nice. I 'm planning to do a post like this soon. I just discovered that I can re-purposing organizer/storage as light boxes.
